This worn and beaten path leads me back to you again.
This cold and bitter wrath, it must release my heart.
I feel in shades of grey, in drops of ink inside my skin.
And time just floats away ‘til I’m right back where I start.

I feel I’ve got to let myself be free from all the fear.
Break away from bonds that have held me back and kept me here.
Shame and guilt, humiliation have taken all these years.
The pain of my repudiation released in a world of tears,
but there are no more tears.

The scorn is rooted deep, but light will torch that vicious beast.
The pain that I do keep can finally turn to go.
In morning I’ll awake, its dissipation I’ll perceive.
I forgive all my mistakes and finally start to grow.
